I noticed my system doing random memory dumps on a fairly regular basis and discovered the fan in my power supply had stopped working. I replaced the power supply and still have the memory dumps. Might I have fried my RAM or motherboard, or possibly something else? Also, I'm not used to NT, is a memory dump the equivilant to a blue screen of death fatal error in win 9x?

Thanks!

I don't do XP, but I have had dumps in NT and 2000. It turned out in the 2000 machine it was a conflict between software trying to use a usb port, and in the NT machine it was a bad motherboard.

A virus could cause this also, I would do a scan. If it won't scan it might be Klez- there is a safemode fix for that on Norton's web page.
