Memory checking

After I updated my BIOS a few weeks ago every time I turn my computer on it does a memory check. This takes a few minutes, and I know you can skip memory checking by hitting esc. It would just be easier for me if it could just be disabled, but I don't know where to. Its not listed anywhere in the BIOS as an option. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

It makes it difficult to give you a specific answer without knowing which model computer you have. Most models have an option in the BIOS setup to enable Quick Boot. Quick Boot skips the memory test during POST. When you updated the BIOS it likely returned the settings to their default values, which, on some systems is for Quick Boot to be disabled.
