All of a sudden, everytime I start Win2000 i see on the screen the error message "memory access violation in module [email protected]:58867677. I get a similiar message when I start certain programs(with a diff set of numbers), and i no longer have internet access, even though I'm connected to the internet. My dial-up connection screeen kepts saying "unable to establish a connection". Other internet based programs just can't connect.

How can I troubleshoot this problem and what does it mean. BTW, I ran a Dos memory checker and all my memory(512mb RAM seems to be ok.

Hi there, I work in the trade and have just cured a system with the same prob. you are reporting.. The system was infected with the SWEN.A worm. If you can, head on over to Symantec.com and download their SWEN.A Virus fix tool. Hopefully that will sort it. Then as previously mentioned, get a firewall. Even if it's only a freebie like Zone Alarm..

Cheers
