Hi folks, hope someone can help me out with a better understanding of hardware than I have! I was recently using my laptop and started to smell burning plastic (my laptop case is hard plastic) and realised that my laptop screen was going black in the corner in a triangle from the corner and it was growing outwards- like melting or burning things tend to!
I realised that the case of the screen was melting from the heat of the radiator over 3 feet away. I got it away from that and the black triangle started receeding into the corner and disappeared. However, a few days on and my laptop seems fine- but the internet signal is terrible unless I stand beside the router. All other devices are working as normal in places where my latop now can't get internet. Is my antenna damaged by the melting?
