Hello,

Ok so I have been reading through these forums and it seems JohnWill is the man.. he has solved a lot of peoples problems. Johnwill I have seen people join the forums just to thank you for fixing their problems so cudos to you man. I just want to say thank you for everything you have posted already and I appreciate any help you can offer me with my problem. So here it goes.

First a little background.
There is a MacBook sending this message connecting to the wireless Linksys WRT54G router I have been trying to get internet signal from with my PC running Windows 7. With my Win 7 PC I can connect to 192.168.1.1 and set the router to default settings which I have done, but for some reason I cannot connect to 192.168.1.1 with the Mac - from which I am sending this now.. So it is very strange to me that the connection to the internet works with the Mac,. but not the connection to 192.168.1.1... and the connection to 192.168.1.1 will work on my PC but not the connection to the internet.
We did have two routers running for the house. I have turned off the power to the Linksys WRT54G2 router but have not disconnected the ethernet cable.

Anyway here are the details in point form.
  • WRT54G router in default settings
  • ipconfig /release & /renew completed.
  • disabled wired LAN connection
  • ipconfig shows an IPv4 ip of 192.168.1.100
  • ipconfig says Media Disconnected
  • ASUS USB-N13 - 802.11n Network Adapter shows working with no !warning symbols.
  • Using Chrome but none of the browsers on PC work.. using Chrome on Mac to write this currently.

I have attached screenshots of ipconfig, 192.168.1.1 router panel settings (which are default), and what the network settings for Windows 7 are. If you need anything else to solve this Ill send it in a heart beat. I did go through the ipconfig /release - renew but that was before I disabled the wired LAN and before I disconnected the WRT54G2 router.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

I forgot to add that I tried the winsock repair as well.. put both of these in:
netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

I am no certain of the order I tried all of these things. If there is a certain order than please let me know.
Cheers.
