G'day. I have recently been having problems with my pc. I have just had a new power system put in, replaced faulty memory and had the machine checked. Windows itself works well but I am unable to get HP director to open from the desktop shortcut nor will ATO Catslyst open from the shortcut. The HP troubleshoot suggested I regedit and remove the installer keys and put them into a desktop folder, then reload the latest drivers etc. I did all that and the page said to open the folder, double click on the saved files and they would merge back to registry. All that seemed to happen was the files opened in notebook.
Today the dvd/cd drive would not open and I had to reboot for it to work; I was playing Brothers in arms road to hill 30 when the screen went black, the mouse turned off and the modem lost contact to the computer and humming started to come from the speakers.
Can anyone help?
