Mandrake 9.0 and modem install

Hi ya

I know that for most, this is probably a no brainer but as for me; rocket science!

I am a brand newbie at linux. I loaded the OS and need to get my modem to work. I have a lucent internal pci modem. I have searched for a driver but to no avail. what must I do to get my modem up and running? Is there an easy fix? An exicutable file?

I know the kernel is 2.4.19-16mdk (what ever that means :4-dontkno )

then once I get the driver how do I enstall it?
