Malware?

I'm having an ongoing issue that creeps up every now and then that is VERY frustrating. It's a little hard to describe, but I have a windows XP computer, and no matter what page I have open, whether it be IE, Notepad, calculator etc. Every 5 seconds or so the page will "grey out" and I have to click the curser back on the page. It's especially frustrating when I'm trying to type!. Running an antimalware program used to help, but I tried it this time along with spybot, but it's still going on. Pleeeease help!!!!

Try running malwarebytes anti-malware- works well.

I have tried that, even in safe mode. I'm not 100% positive it's malware. I remember previously there was a setting on my desktop that fixed it.......darn my feeble brain!!!!

Have you tried using system restore to take it back before this was happening?

Doesn't sound like Malware sounds like something basic like one of your keys on your mouse or keyboard is becoming active and shifting your focus maybe.

I know this sounds a bit daft but bring a window up and disconnect your keyboard mouse does the graying out still occur?
