Hi all,
This is my first time posting on this site.
I would really appreciate some help from the experts out there.
In the last few weeks I have noticed some strange behaviour from my computer system.
It manifests itself in a number of different ways and seems to be getting worse.
Some of the problems are:
1: My web browser (Opera V9.63) is jumping to strange websites. I have particularly noticed this if you search on Google then click on one of the search results you end up on a completely different site such as britanniasearch & celldorado. If you click back then the link again you go to the correct site.
2: My AVG anti virus program cannot auto update.
I manually downloaded the update and that worked fine, I also ran a registry repair tool downloaded from AVG but that didn’t solve the problem.
3: My Adobe Reader cannot update itself online.
4: At times if you open the Run command line and type “cmd” it just blanks the desktop and restarts explorer.exe but other times it works.
5: I am unable to run “Regedit.exe” from the exe file or the run command line.
There are other strange happenings but I cant think of them right now.
My system is Win XP Pro V2002 SP3 running on a Dell Precision M65
I might be jumping the gun a little but I ran a Hijack system scan and have attached the log file.
I also ran an Unstall list from Hijack which I have also attached.
Any help advice is much appreciated.
Regards,
Neil
