Re: maintain format when inserting file (Word 2007)

Say you insert document A into document B.

If document A and document B both contain a style S, text from document A formatted with this style will take on the formatting of S in document B.

My question is how can I maintain the style of document A on the inserted document B? Is there a macro I can utilize to do this without after the insertion having to select the inserted text and reformatting it to the recipient document?

Thanks for the help

When you Paste in your new document a small Paste Options box should appear at the cursor or in a drop-box, this usually gives you 3 options:

Keep Source Formatting
Merge Formatting, or
Text Only

If you wish to keep the original formatting, click on Keep Source Formatting.

No, that is not possible when inserting one file into another via Insert|Object>Text from File.
