I have a 2009 MacBook (white) and it has a Intel Core 2 Duo processor clocked at 2.13 Ghz i was wondering if your able to replace the processor with something faster, maybe even quad core? or an i3 processor? I'm kinda new to the whole processor socket size and compatibility stuff. if you need any more information just let me know. Thanks

Also i want to upgrade it quite a bit since its a really nice computer, i would like to put 6GB of ram since thats what some website said they can take but it would be more wise to use 2X 2GB sticks of ram for 4GB and upgrade the hard drive to something like 250 all the up to 500GB. Let me know what you think.

For a Mac, you're kinda stuck with what you have. To swap a new processor it's like buying a new Mac. I got my i7 dual core mbp last month and I fought apple to get the quad. Well I won lol. But if u bought it in 2009, tough luck

Its actually pretty fast i can have tons of programs running at once. And coming from what i had before (a Dell Inspiron E-1505 w/ 1GB ram, Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.83GHz) it was the worst computer ever, i was always on the phone with dell, it went though 3 hard drives. even though there referb its like come on, this mac is 100000X better then that computer. and the plus of it is i got this mac for free :) and im pretty sure you can replace the processor...
Only Mac can tell you for sure what the motherboard will support, other then that it's trial and error.

ok thanks for that information
Yea I started using the Mac and I got sick of the pc's interface. Dell computers suck

Oh and the processor thing, the intel core 2 duo and the i series use different motherboards. Therefore you'll be charged quite a bit for it if you get it upgraded. Just another apple thing.

Hmm that could be a possibility. They never specified what model the core 2 duo is for the macs. Only thing it shows is the clock speed. Maybe it's worth a try to call and ask them the specifics.
