Is there any possible way to make this game work on Windows 2000 Pro? I don't have windows XP and I got the game from a friend as a gift... *rolls eyes* I don't understand why it needs Windows XP specifically anyway... Anyone care to explain that too? :p

I don't know the exact reason why it would be limited to XP, but that's what the minimum requirements state, and I don't think there's any way of getting around that. If you want to find out more info or how to get around it (if possible), I'd contact EA directly and ask them.

It's an excellent game, so I'd hang onto it until you can get Windows XP.
I don't think I'll be getting Windows XP anytime soon, I don't have the money to buy another operating system at the moment. That's why it's kinda.. Argh! My friend also didn't know that I didn't have Windows XP, so can't really be helped -.-

*Goes to EA website* >_>
Wow, and the EA support team isn't e-mailing me back -.- *rolls eyes and waits more* Any one have any ideas?
EA could take a while to get back to you - up to a week or more. Be patient, and they'll get to you eventually. However, don't be surprised if the response you get is, "Sorry, there's nothing you can do."
Heh.. Ironically, that was their response... "being a gamer as well, I understand how you feel about this problem" blah blah blah.. There's no way to fool my computer into thinking it has Windows XP as the OS? XD

*shrugs* I guess I'll just have to wait till I can buy XP...

Unfortunately, it has to do with the structure of the OS, not just its name. XP does things one way, and 2K does things a completely different way - so if the game is only designed to do things the way XP does them, then that's all it will work on, unfortunately.

Sorry there's no easier solution.

I was teasing about the name thingy .-. Didn't mean to seem stupid if I made myself look an idiot xD I didn't know that they did things completely different... I thought they were pretty much the same thing, but just built upon and built upon with updates till they got a newer and better more official OS. I understand what you mean though... Thanks for trying to help :) At least I learned something through this ^^

Off to earn more money I go!

Sorry about that - didn't mean to sound like I thought you were stupid. Just trying to explain.

You can get Windows XP Home Edition for around $100 US (probably less). Check newegg.com and similar sites, and see what you can find. Best of luck!
