Lost D and M drives

740 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Terrister
 I think I may have lost access to my D and M drives while trying to install a dell memory key driver to my win 98 machine. They seemed to disappear simutaneously and so I assume its not a physical connection issue. I've tried to reinstall/locate the drivers with no luck.

Any ideas on where to start?

i dont think 98 has any windows restore... maybe its time for some new parts?
try and remove the dell memory key drivers, if you can get the drives back youll want to look for a more universal driver for 98 that allows usb thumb drives.

its hard to do things today with windows 98, so i would recommend an upgrade, if you cant buy a new computer get windows xp and more memory.
No 98 does not have System Restore. Try hitting F8 when it starts to boot. Choose command propmt (not safe mode). Now type regedit /fix

If it is a registry problem, this will fiix it.
