lost com ports

how do I get my com ports back?

Go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager do you see any yellow marks next to Ports(COM & LPT)? If so, right click and uninstall . Now right click any device and choose Scan For Hardware Changes. This should reinstall them. However, there aren't many devices that use Com ports any longer.
