When I first open Outlook Express, everything is fine. After a while of just leaving it open, I end up losing a lot of the toolbar. For instance....the ONLY things that stay are like REPLY, CREATE, and one other one. ALL of the others somehow vanish and it is REALLY irritating. It seems the only way to get it all back is to close it and reopen it.

What gives?

Buggy video drivers can make buttons go missing or go black. Update the video drivers, if that doesn't work then reinstall Outlook Express, you may need to download a new copy of Internet Explorer to do this.

Go to Windows Update and make sure you've got all of the latest fixes and patches for your Outlook Express.

If that doesn't help, right click on the Outlook Express toolbar and select Customize. Perhaps setting up the toolbar in there again will help.

If your system runs somehow out of memory,
you will start loosing icons, not only in outlook,
but in almost any app. It's just that Outlook is
the one running at the moment.

Use system monitor to check mem usage.
