I have an Acer 1641 WLMI model laptop computer running Windows XP Pro Home Edition operating system. I am currently using AVG 7.5 anti virus and spyware, plus a route kit free version and I am also using Spybot.
My problem is that free space on my C Drive is disappearing at around 200 Mb per day. I have deleted many Programs via the control panel to create extra space, I have deleted all restore points except for the last one, I have recently defragmented the C: Drive. I perform a disk clean up every evening to remove temporary internet files, I have also cleared temporary files in the path C:/Windows/temporary, I created an extra Gigabit of free space on the Hard Drive, but every time that I create some space it disappears quickly.
It seems to me that something is replicating itself but still passing my systems security checks. Is there a dos command that can be used to trace any file that is growing or replicating itself? Has anyone experienced something similar and do you have any solutions?
