I have been searching jobs in my area without much luck. I will be starting a new career after 20 years in the Aircraft biz. I want to work on computer like I have been doing on the sdie for the last 12 years. Is there a specific name for someone who builds computer systems? Is Computer Technician too vauge? I would like to build systems for a small local company but not for Circuit City or Best buy. Did not see a catagory to post this in so I stuck it here where I do most of my posting, my apologies to the Admin Gods. Thanks for any help.

I hate to rain on your parade but computer techs dont make squat here ! :upset:


I run a small shop for extra income and I would have to say if I depended on only that I would starve even in the bigger cities there is too much competition, and tech or builders dont get paid much at all, a real wiz will get $15.00 / hour

any places that have the right "look and feel to them" will be low paying

the aircraft maintenance business seems to be growing though ??

its seems there is a growing call for that

as well as networking IT's but thats a real steep learning curve

sorry to "kill the sunshine" but reality sometimes bites

here the pays no better and you spend more time troubleshooting 90/10 to actually building
