Hey I'm looking for Open-sourced software for installing and managing maybe one or two cameras for this small project I'm working on. Any suggestions out there? I have some experience working with software like Axis for large-scale deployments but with application such as mine, it would be overkill and cost-ineffective. I have the necessary components such as a switch, cabling, and my first camera but am having problems finding the right software to bring everything together. Any tips?
I have a Raspberry Pi laying around that I'd like to use for this deployment as well. If anyone has any forte in this subject please feel free to share your thoughts.
Side Note: Can I use a camera by a proprietary manufacturer (ie. Axis) with non-Axis software?
(Context: Axis communications is a company that provides various security solutions such as IP security cameras in a variety of industries.)
