Interesting opinions, all agree on Seagate and I agree that their drives are excellent. But I wonder what the statistics by volume show between WD and Maxtor failures.

I see Maxtor drives filling the computer stores like Fry's up to the ceiling and only a few WD's. I have had no problems with a Maxtor drive but have had several failed WD drives.

Maybe I am just lucky with my Maxtor drives and unlucky with the WD's. So why take a chance, I vote Seagate!
