I would suggest going into the properties of the mouse and check it's settings, if it's a multi function mouse one of the buttons may of been assigned to your sound somehow, worst case try installing the latest drivers for the mouse, see if that helps.

Hi,
The problem i have is every time i use the volume control buttons on my mouse it resets the "wave" volume to 50%, i normally have it set at 5-10%.
I wondered if anyone has had any similar problems and any solutions?

i actually tried installing the new drivers/software before thats why i posted on here but i tryed it again and it solved the problem.
