Recently, I had the awesome luck of getting infected with a some nasty malware. When I noticed it, I logged out of Windows, logged back in to Safe Mode, and cleaned up. I then rebooted and logged into Windows normally...

Only I suddenly have a brand new desktop. What? :4-dontkno

Specifically, I'm now running on C:\Windows\Documents and Settings\Owner.JENNY\Dekstop (note: JENNY is the name of my computer), which didn't exist on my computer until I was infected, cleaned my computer, logged into Safe Mode, rebooted, blah blah. Previously, I had run on C:\Windows\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop. This still exists, and everything is intact, I just... Can't figure out how to make this ACTUALLY be my desktop. I also can't figure out where this random new desktop/account came from, or how to get rid of it.

Help!

Hello and welcome to TSF

You could still be infected.

I would recommend that you go here; read and follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information; as instructed, to here. (Just click on the coloured links.)

Once done, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.

Good luck

Please also remember DO NOT post your logs in this thread, please start a new thread here. (Just click on the coloured link.) and post the logs.
