from time to time (or when I have time) I will post some XP tips to help out.

If you always liked locking your box when your away (to keep the wife from looking at your stuff or whatever :D ) then here is something you might want to read.

To create an icon that will lock your box and upon return you can log back in then do this:

Create a shortcut
In the command line type:
rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

Exactly like that (capital letters and all).
click next
Name the shortcut
Click finish.

If you want you can choose an icon also.

Simpler

In XP Pro & Home just Ctrl-Alt-del and goto lock computer... or you could do it the hard way....but why?

hmm.

I have to say once again, that you can lock your computer in XP pro and home the exact same as you can in NT and Win2000 and that's final. Anyone who says Im wrong... well Im not, I work with these systems every day, I get called over to my users who need a simple fix but have locked thier BLEEPING computer before going on a 5 hour lunch break @ least 4 times a day. :)
