My cousin bought a computer from a rummage sale and is looking at getting internet hooked up to it. But the computer is locked, he has the Windows XP PRO Product code on the box, but no software. We were looking into reformatting, but cannot get hands on a XP Pro install disk. We have an account with Admin access, but a program called WINFORCER is stopping us from doing anything. We cannot run the install disk from Comcast, cannot open the computer icon to look into the system, cannot open the run box to try the msconfig..........looking to disable this program as it may be all we need to get this computer up and running for him and his family. Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Good morning aenubis

Your cousin is going to have to ask whomever he bought this computer from for the password or whatever else is required to deactivate Winforcer. We can not help you with this matter.

ASSISTANCE WITH ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

We will not provide any user with information about the location of websites that assist with the following activities

software pirating
hacking
password cracking
keystroke recording software

We will also not offer advice, assistance or instruction with regard to any of the above activities, illegal or otherwise.

If, after you have deactivated Winforcer, there are other issues you would like to resolve, we will be happy to assist you.
