Hello all,

My pc died died but my hdd is still in great condition. After building new pc & attempting to retrieve my "PRECIOUS DOCUMENTS" I ran into locked folders that I can't access. Can some help me access my OWN DOCS !

I'm running Win 7 Ultimate on all pc's.

You need to take ownership of the affected folders by changing the permissions:
Add "Take Ownership" to Explorer Right-Click Menu in Win 7 or Vista - How-To Geek

Hi, if Pip's take ownership doesn't help you might be trying to access Junctions. If you have the old HDD slaved to the new machine it will be given a drive letter assume "F" your documents will be located at F:\Users\XXXX\Documents where XXXX is your user name.
