hi, I'm trying to set up a network with my desktop & laptop, both are xp-home. When I use the set-up wizard my desktop completes the setup but the laptop wizard says ( The network connections listed below are disconnected. Plug in your network cables or otherwise connect your network hardware ) Listed below this is: (Local Area Connection Broadcom Netxtreme Gigabit Ethernet. When I try to get files from my desktop the laptop says (The home computer is not accessible. You might not have perrmission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to see if you have access permissions. The network path was not found. ). Any ideas? Rick

are you using a crossover cable to connect the two together
no , I was doing this wireless
Start by telling us the version/patch level of Windows, the make/model of any networking equipment, and exactly what works and doesn't work. How are you configuring the wireless connection?
I'm sorry I don't understand what the version/patch level is but I''ll try to find it tonight. When you say configureing do you mean the way I set it up in Windows Network Setup Wizard? Rick
Configuration - What's plugged into what?
Make/model - Should be self-explanatory
