liteon dvd-rom

I got a computer with a liteon dvd rom, and every time that I try to play a dvd it says that there is not a valid dvd decoder present, how do I get a dvd decoder, and shouldnt' the company that sent me the drive have include one?

You probably bought a bare drive, no decoder. Programs like PowerDVD include the decoder, and there are tons of others.
