from the command prompt type
"startx" without the quotes, you may need to change your X Windows cofiguration to match your hardware, let us know if you need help with that, otherwise you'll be good to go.

i typed startx and i got a heading "device dependant usage" and a list of things. then it said connection to x server failed:
errno 111
yes i do need help on x windows configuration

sweet sweet gui

i got the gui!!
i changed the mouse configuration in the setup utility because i remembered the error message i got - a mouse could not be find when i typed startx.

so now i got the GUI but my mouse does not work!!- i dont get it the setup utility only lists about 20 kinds of mouses.

help is greatly appreciated.

driver installation on LINUX

i have a usb logitech trackman, it has a wheel. what should i do?

good news:
i just installed college linux and everything works great. . .so far. . . i want to connect my d-link dwl g520 network adapter now but im not sure how. . .d-link says to install the drivers first, but thats for windows. . .

i dont want to mess things up so im lookin for direction:
the computer im planning on networking with has windowsXP and is linked to a d-link di-624 router which is connected to a broadbland blaster dsl modem. . .

once again any advice is greatly appreciated
