Linking emails to Contact Records in MS Outlook

I'm replacing my Goldmine Contact Management software program. Goldmine has it's own email program that links each incoming and outgoing email to the contact who wrote or is to receive the correspondence.

Can I link emails to contacts in the above manner with either Outlook or in Outlook Business Manager? If yes, can you tell me how to perform the conversion?
