New here; sorry if this isn't the proper place to post this.

Anyway, my girlfriend's laptop is an HP Pavillion, and she's running Windows Vista. I'm running XP. But my computer isn't the problem, so nevermind that.

We have a cable connection, and we both have wireless cards and we connect via a router (Linksys). We've never had problems until today. Scratch that, SHE'S never had problems until today.

She's getting the "Limited or no connectivity" error. You know, the annoying little icon with the yellow exclamation point.

Anyway, I'm no expert on this kind of stuff, but I know enough to keep things running. She said she was browsing earlier, and when she opened another tab, a bunch of windows (IE windows) popped up and wouldn't stop. She restarted the computer, and has been unable to connect since.

I've browsed through the settings, I've tried reseting the router and the modem; NOTHING.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not 100% sure what else to say, so hopefully someone who is better at this stuff than I can ask me the right questions and I can answer them in hopes of working this out.

Thanks!

Well, the "bunch of windows" popping up suggests you have a malware infection, that's where I'd start.
