the lights in the loadbay of my seven tonner keep getting smashed by the loads, I'm thinking of putting in a cigarette lighter socket in a out of the way space and running a removable light from it.
it is a 24volt system, and I think most lights are 12 volt, could I just put a 24 volt fuse in the light ? cheers.

No you can't. You need 24 volt bulbs.
