Recently acquired monitor. Proview 19" LCD Monitor. Product #: PL916S Model #: 900P

First time I plugged it in, i got no power, the green LED did nothing. After trying a different socket, I got the green LED to light up for 1 second only and have had no such luck since then. I can hear it make a faint noise each time i initially plug it in and unplug it.

I took apart the monitor to see if I could notice anything unplugged or visually wrong and nothing looked out of the ordinary.

Any suggestions?

Is ur new monitor connected into onboard graphics or a graphics card?!

Well, there's no power, so what's the difference?

With some models you get the stand by led light display thru the computer even if its not plugged in. sounds like you got unlucky and bought a faulty monitor, it wont be a problem with your computer if you used a different socket outlet and the led became green for a second!
