If you buy soap, reserve hotel rooms or pay bills on the Internet, your money could be the latest target in the cyberspace war between computer programmers and hackers.
A Reno-based Internet security consultant warns of a computer bug from Russia that's resulted in the electronic theft of millions of dollars.
"They use a virus attack to steal money," said Ira Victor, an executive with Data Clone Labs. "They are professional cybermonsters."
The bug, created by a hacker group known as the Russian Business Network, is contained in PDF (portable document format) files that often arrive in computers attached to spam e-mail.
