I have a Belkin wireless G USB network adaptor (FSD7050). When i plug into my desktop computer it will do the usual "found new hardware" all the way to "your device is now installed and ready to use" and works fine, BUT when i plug into laptop nothing happens what so ever device manager does not refresh, there is no bubble in the system tray nothing. I have tried my laptop with windows XP professional and 2000 professional and nothing

any ideas

You always have to run the installation disk before you plug in a wireless adapter.

When you run the install disk, it will stop after loading some files and ask you to plug in the device. At that point it will finish and it will be ready to use. I use this same adapter at the house.

I have tried plugging it in both before and after i installed the drivers/software, the laptop wont recognize the device at all.

If you've plugged it in before you installed the disk, Windows will give it a generic driver, which won't work. Try uninstalling the device in Device Manager and then installing the driver disk.
