My daughter brought her laptop to me yesterday hoping I could help her. She was having a few issues with it so she went to do a system restore and after she did she rebooted and now it's starts to load but no desktop icons appear or anything else for that matter. HELP! :upset: Please.

Oh yeah, it's a 1 year old Dell Insperon 1505

Go to the webpage, scroll down to line 195, and click on Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar, click on Run

But its NOT the computer I am using now thats having a problem. Its a laptop.

Well then, use the laptop and access the webpage.

You should still be able to use Task manager on the laptop.

Start it up > hit CTRL-Alt-Delete > File > New Task > type in iexplore > and follow the instructions I gave you earlier.

Ok, tried what you said with the task manager and its not going to the web page...:upset:

Can you open any webpages?

No. No task bar. No desk top icons. Nothing.

But you can still open task manager, correct

So what happens when you:

hit CTRL-Alt-Delete > File > New Task > type in iexplore > hit enter

Nothing comes up....nothing at all.

Do you see explorer listed in Processes

No, I don't.

Then try this:

hit CTRL-Alt-Delete > File > New Task > type in explorer.exe > hit enter

Still...nothing comes up.

But do you see explorer.exe in the process now

No, I don't see it there.

Earlier, I made a typo and typed it as: explore.exe

when it was supposed to be: explorer.exe

So are you sure you typed it in correctly?
