Hello! I own a Acer Aspire 5734Z and about a year ago I started noticing water-like marks on my screen. I doubt its water because I always keep my laptop dry and away from steam and such, but thats the only way I can really describe it. Its spread about 3 inches from the sides and 1-2 inches from bottom and top.

Can anyone give me advice on what the problem is?

Hi Harley1201,

Plug in an external monitor and see if the issue occurs there. If not, the issue is with the screen and it may need to be replaced (which won't be very cheap unfortunately.)

I cannot test that at the moment but what if it shows up on the other monitor as well?

And if it is the screen, is there a specific part, or just screen in general? Haha. I apologize I'm not familiar with laptop parts!

If it shows up on another monitor as well, then it most likely a software issue. I would then proceed to check the video drivers. However, the first thing to do would be to test a monitor when you get the chance.

If it is a hardware issue, then I would say it's most likely the screen itself that has become faulty, but there may be other factors such as the back light (however I too am not familiar with the inner workings of laptop screens myself.) If it got to that stage, you would have to take it to a repair shop.
