laptop screen

Hello, I hope that someone can help me. I have a compaq laptop. It is and is a presario 700. I have tried tureing on as I press f8 continually. Nothing happen. I need help.:sigh:

What is the exact problem you are having? Are you trying to access Safe Mode?

What is wrong with the "laptop screen"?

Are you able to see the Compaq logo? Are you able to enter the System Setup Menu?

Hi ray369,

Please provide more information so that we can help troubleshoot your computer issues. Do you hear any noises or buzzing sounds when you turn on the computer? Is the computer running a Windows XP operating system? When was the last time the computer was able to work fine?

take a flashlight and shine into screen, can you see an image?

Does the power lights come on? Does the fan run?

Connect to an external monitor to test screen.

There are numberous reasons the screen will stay black (motherboard,RAM,LCD,inverter, and the list goes on)
