Laptop Screen

I have a Sony Vaio laptop and cannot see anything on the screen without a flash light. I brought it to work with me and connected a monitor to it and everything looks ok on the monitor but the laptop screen is dark. What are the possible reasons for this happening? I had the laptop for approximately 2½ years.

I think your lcd backlight is broken.

If you can see the video on the lcd with a flash light then your backlight isn't working. This likely due to a bad inverter or it could be the fl tube in the lcd, usually one or the other. Less likely causes are bad lcd cable, bad lcd cable connector on the system board, or a blown component on the system board.

I think there could be a problem with the screen cable.You should find out the problem immediately.....
