I have a quick question. I have a Lenovo T520 laptop that has a cracked LCD on it. I ordered a new LCD, but when I installed it, all that showed up on the screen is a faint picture as if the back light is not functioning. I sent the lcd back to the company, but it worked fine for them and they said it was compatible with my model of laptop. When I looked at the laptop, I did not see an inverter in any of the usual places. Any ideas what I can check to see why the LCD is not lighting up?

Also, the old screen was model number LP156WH4 and the new screen is a model number LP156WH2. Is there any difference between the two? both are LG displays. Thanks in advance.

Best bet would be to e-mail the company, explain the problem and the difference in the Pt Nos.

I had a similar problem recently, but with upgrading the RAM. They were sending/recommending a compatible stick which was for the model, but not with the stick that was fitted. Just keep on at them until you get it resolved.

What are the letters/numbers after the model number? ex:LP156WH2(TL)(AE)

So far from the model numbers that you have given the laptop screen appear to be compatible.

Check that the connections are secure.

When I looked at the laptop, I did not see an inverter in any of the usual places.

This is an LED screen

You say that with confidence so you obviously know about the model numbers.
Can you shed any further light on what they mean for others coming across this thread in future? In particular, what to look out for that makes them incompatible?
