pink tint may mean a bad LCD or video card. flickering may mean a bad LCD backlight or inverter. use an external monitor if symptoms are still present. if they are you may have a bad Video Card. otherwise it could only be on the LCD assembly (possible backlight or inverter).
Laptop screen flickers
I am using a sony vaio with winxp. My screen internittently flickers and is unusable for periods of 1 - 5 minutes. I have also noticed that on startup there is a pink tint on the screen that clears after about 30 seconds. This issue started about 4 days ago and initially was much worse - flickering on startup and lasting much longer.
I have gone through the vaio recovery process so the laptop is back to original condition (except for flickering).
While there has been some improvement the laptop is unusable for business.
I would appreciate any help/advice. thanks
