Hey everyone,

I actually don't know which sub category to post this in... I don't know what to classify my problem as =/

I purchased an Asus F3F series laptop four months back and, noting that the laptop only has 1 GB of ram, uninstalled Vista and replaced it with XP. I then installed all relevant drivers so that everything ran very smoothly.

This smoothness continued for a few weeks, until Firefox began acting horrendously choppy. I switched to Opera after trying in vain to fix the problem. Opera hasn't given me any problems, but now, if I'm running more than one program - say, Opera and Word, the computer runs slowly and strange things begin happening.

For instance, on the task bar at the bottom, the icon might become black. In Opera, text on the tabs above mold together into a black blob. In opened Explorer windows, the entire top (with the folder name, and the options for minimize/maximize/close) disappear. I frequently receive errors saying that "there isn't enough memory" or "the application failed to initialize properly".`

I downloaded a program to optimize RAM (and measure its usage), and discovered that my memory rarely seemed to drop to dangerous levels. So now I'm sort of at a brick wall. I've scanned and re-scanned my computer for viruses or malware, but I never seem to find anything.

Here's my HijackThis log. Thanks for any help you can offer!
