Hello all, I'm fairly confused as to the type of ram i need to purchase for this laptop i recently purchased. It is an IBM Thinkpad R40. Type is 2681. I've read around and keep finding more then one answer:4-dontkno

A good site for looking at what the best memory is for your machine, is RAM Memory Upgrade: Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq. USB drives, flash cards, SSD at Crucial.com.

That said, a few questions are needed really.
- Are you upgrading your RAM or replacing it (old/damaged?
- If you are upgrading it, how many slots do you have left?
- What processor do you have? (Changes what your laptop model supports, Celeron, Pentium 4?).a

Use Crucial's site to determine what RAM is compatible. You can purchase from wherever you find the best deal.
