I have an acer laptop with a intel 1.6 ghz dual core proccesor and a gig of ram. It is about 5 months old. Now when i try to start my computer, it tells me that windows cannot start and sends me to "System Recovery Options" where it tells me to select my keyboard layout. It then tells me to select my operating system, but there are none to choose from so i hit next. On the next page I have the options of System Restore, Startup Repair, Windows Complete PC Restore, Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, and Command Prompt.
If i Select System Restoreit says "To preform an offline System Restore, you must specidy which Windows Installation you would like to restore and prompts me to enter "rstrui.exe/OFFLINE:C:\Windows
If I select Windows Complete PC Restore it tells me that an internal error occured "incorrect function (0x80070001)
If I select Windows Memory Diagnostic tool it says that a problem is starting windowsfrom checking for memory problems during startup.
If I select Startup Repair it goes for about an hour and then tells me that i need to select "finsh" and if startup repair comes on again it has more work to do. WEll, its been a few days of that process so i don't think that is working.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it because I really don't know what to do at this point.
Thanks
Dave
