Laptop damage

858 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Rich-M
Hello, I have a Dell Experion Laptop I just bought April of 2010. Somehow I managed to break it (shortly after paying it off) I turned it on last night and it acted like it was trying to load but couldn't and the whole screen looks like it is badly cracked from the inside. The outside screen looks fine. Anyway, I wanted to know if I should turn it in for recycling and "ugh" buy another or if there is a way to have it repaired. Anyone? :4-dontkno

I would take it to a local shop for an estimate as those screens are not terribly expensive to replace and then make a decision based on price of that vs new one.
Hi Rich M. Thank You for the advice. I checked around my area and though I believe your right (the screen runs about $70 per Google Search) the cheapest price for repair was $336. I complained to Dell for quite a long time and got them to do the repair for $199-all included, probably since it was less than a yr old. FYI, if anyone else does this, Dell made me pay up front by charging the full cost before sending a box to ship the product to them for repair.
That's a good deal and certainly worth doing at that price.
