Upgrading the cooling INSIDE is nearly impossible in most cases and will toss your warranty out the window. There are many external solutions that may or may not be effective. My laptop always sits on my desk and the surroundings allow for decent enough circulation. The solutions I've seen are comprised of under-case panels that contain high speed (noisy) fans. One cool thing that some offer is that they also work as a USB hub. I've never used them before so I can't say for sure if they work well or not. Caveat emptor I say.
