i have a Toshiba satellite c855 laptop. it won't work with the battery in, all the lights come on but nothing happens ,
no matter what i press. i take the battery out and it comes on , i get a message saying rtc battery low press f2 key.
i do that and my bios page (that's what i call it) comes up, i am not sure about all that so i press f10 and enter and my desktop comes on. When i go to the bottom of the page to the battery icon it say's battery not detected.
from this point on the laptop works but when i press the power button everything goes' off.
any idea's

thanks.

Try this...

Investigate hardware problems.
The battery charge threshold should be disabled.
Reset the power on your laptop.
Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery should be reinstalled.
For your battery management device, update the driver.
