i cant connect my 2 pcs on LAN game, im using a cable modem (dsl connection) and i connect it to a router, before i manage to play LAN with my bro using that setting when i turn off my cable modem, but now i cant seem to get it work..wehn i start playing LAN games my pc cant connect to other pc.. im using winxp..i dont know what seems to be the problem..they can see each other on my network but LAN games, not...im using LAN when i connect it, actually im playing Diablo 2, i want to play it with my brother, before, i manage to connect the 2 PC's just by turning off the cable modem internet connection, im using a router to connect my 2 PC's to the cable modem..last week when i tried to connect the 2 PC's to play Diablo, the other PC says "it cannot find the server" it doesnt matter which PC i use as a host server, still getting the same error/note...but when i tried to look to my network connections, the 2 PC's can see each other,,is there a limit to how long the cable(RJ45 wire) must be use in order to connect? im thinking i might using a too long cable, but before, i use this very same cable to play Cossacks, and i dont have problems..but now i cant get it work, i tried doing what i did before, turning off the cable modem and even bought a 5port hub, still cant get it to work...
