I am upgrading my video card to a newer model nVidia. I need to disable the internal video card first. We disabled the video card through the device manager. We also tried to disable the video card via the BIOS, but neither is working.

The new video card is not being recognized.

I have contacted nVidia support and they need to know how to disable the internal video card via jumpers on the mother board. I have found pictures of the mother board, but no mention of jumpers.
It is a First Interntationl Computer KTBC51G mother board.

We are using the PCI Express (16) card for a e-GeForce 7200 GS graphics card.

Help??

According to Gateway KTBC51G Specs
(Suggest you print & file this WEB page)

nVidia GeForce 7 series specs

As far as disabling the on-board, nVidia Help Desk is wrong. You disable/enable video via BIOS settings.

PERSONAL RANT: This is why I really hate the industry going to Help Desk type support, rather than REAL Tech Support (by a technician familiar with the product). Help Desk people are essentially Talking Heads, they read a "TelePrompter" with a set of questions, and reply with "canned" answers provided by the "TelePrompter," no technical thinking involved. You can tell by getting the exact same "canned" answer EVERY time you contact them, and they reply with the same solutions even though you have already told them you have looked at their Support FAQs and none worked.

Look for:
  • A BIOS setting to enable the PCIE x16
(If you do find and enable for the PCIE x16, do that first and boot, see if it is recognized by Windows New Hardware Wizard)
  • Then, a BIOS setting to disable the on-board peripherals, video

I did try to find documentation of your motherbaord at Gateway, no luck. Just views & drivers.

I did have nVidia support on the line, we checked and checked, but their
are NO Bios setting on my motherboard that can be changed.

I am still at a lose?

It is a Phoenix BIOS and does not have any AGP, PCI express or anything that I can access to disable on board devices.

I did see the motherboard article, it does not mention jumpers.

Any ideas, maybe I have to update the BIOS?

I would contact Gateway Support, I'm not aware of any jumpers to control the PCIe slot on a non SLI motherboard(I have of course been wrong before) Normally you would install the card and the Bios would automatically detect it and shut down the onboard(some will leave the integrated active but the pcie card would also work)
The X16 slot on that motherboard is not a full x16 slot it is only x4 up and x8 down
some of the newer cards won't support x4 which card did you get?

got an e-GeForce 7200 GS by nvidia.

UT us a PCI-E with 128 On-Board memory.

My only use is to connect the S-Video to my HD TV's S-Video connection.
I could not find my specs about x4 and x8
