Konica Magicolor 7300 - Help Please!!!

I am using the Konica Magicolor 7300 colour printer.

I have a problem with the printer using excessive amounts of toner. In paticular, it appears to be using a composite of colour toner to create monochrome prints, rather than simpler using the black toner.

I have updated all the firmware and drivers, and this seems to have no effect.

Konica Minolta have been exceptionally unhelpful about this, does anyone have any ideas?

settings would be first place to look. then is the cable firmly connected. and ofcourse you're not using cheap paper are you? If you can take the toner out and give it a shake.Also uninstall it and re-install it
