hi all,

I am trying to get a konica 7135 that does postscript to work with Ubuntu 9.10 over the network. I tried a cups install but there seem to be two problems: 1) some program didn't install and 2) I don't know how to change the port number associated with the printer driver. With Windows XP I can change the port number which defaults to 9100 (I change it to 10001) and it works. I did go to the konica support website and download to ppd driver file for this printer but the above two problems are still eluding me. Any ideas?
There is another older konica 7030 on the network which has worked fine for a long time but it is PCL only (the printer support guy says he can add PS for $150 but the company won't go for that. the 7135 is PS out of the box.) This is my chance to add Linux to the company but if I can't get printing to work they will never go for it.

thanks,
charles.....
