Well unless you build a test stand it best to test mounted on the mower frame.

To test off the equipment you need to provide a fuel source, electrical power for starting including a starter relay (solenoid) and an kill switch, a way to mount the engine so it is in stable position and can be safely operated. Unless your into doing this a lot it is not cost effective for an one time setup.

Prior to my current shop setup I had a work bench that was setup solely for rebuilding and testing engines so I just bolted down the engine, provided the needed electrical connections, fuel source, and ventilation for the exhaust gases. CO can be harmful in high concentrations. Even then you can't load test without additional equipment setup.

Also note that V-twin do have tendency to run very unload even on one cylinder until loaded by usually the mower deck.

confused:Can anyone tell if i can run the wire from the carburetor solenoid to any where else besides the switch.
You wire it any point in the wiring harness that has full time 12v when the ignition is on but when the switch is off that tie point need to drop to 0v. Use a voltmeter or test light to find this point. Simple....

You just don't want a connection that is full time 12v when the switch is off or you will drain your battery.
